How are funds sent within and across federations?

Fedimint (the protocol) and therefore Fedi (the app) only support Bitcoin, the most secure and decentralized blockchain. Funds can be sent across federations and outside the app via the Lightning Network (LN).

Transactions within federations are kept anonymous by leveraging Chaumian eCash, which allows for the creation and redemption of IOU notes that represent claims on bitcoin.
