How do I request a payment in chat?

To request funds in a chat conversation, simply tap the wallet icon at the bottom left corner of the chat window, choose the federation you'd like to receive funds to, and enter the requested amount denominated in sats or fiat.

Next, tap "Request," and you're done! The payment request never expires, but you can cancel it at any time up until it is paid by the sender.

Note that if you receive a chat payment from a federation you're not a member of, you'll have the option to join the federation and accept the eCash. Alternatively, you can choose to reject the payment altogether.
