How can I deposit into a Multispend group?

To deposit into a Multispend group, first navigate to the relevant chat group and access the Multispend details by tapping the Multispend banner at the top of the main conversation feed. Next, tap Deposit at the bottom of the following screen.

On the next screen, you will see the the federation linked to the Multispend group and the Stable Balance amount you hold in that federation wallet. Note that all deposits to Multispend are done from Stable Balance; you must have funds in the relevant Stable Balance before depositing.

Assuming you have sufficient funds, enter the amount you'd like to deposit into the Multispend group denominated in fiat, add a note if desired, and tap Deposit. Review the transaction details on the next screen, and tap Confirm to complete the deposit.

Multispend pools need protection from volatility because the funds allocated to a Multispend group are meant to be spent – most often in the near future. Multispend, therefore, operates denominated in fiat and funds contributed to a pool technically do not leave Stable Balance.

Consequently, unlike transfers from Stable Balance back to your main Bitcoin balance – which can take up to 10 minutes to complete – deposits from Stable Balance to Multispend are instant, and funds are immediately reflected in the group's balance.
