How do I receive fees from running a federation?

If you as the Lead Guardian (LG) of an OG-supported federation chose to charge a fee on transactions made within your federation, the fees collected are remitted to you by Fedi on a regular basis.

Though it will eventually be automated, the process is manual to start and is done using your LNURL – a reusable Lightning code that you can receive multiple payments to.

To access your LNURL, navigate to the Wallets tab (bottom right of the screen) and tap the down arrow (↓) on the Bitcoin balance of your OG-supported federation.

This brings you to the Request Money screen. Once on this screen, toggle to LNURL to access your LNURL. 

Next, tap the Copy button at the bottom right to copy the code to your clipboard.

Tap on the Ⅹ button and then go back to the Chat tab. Scroll to the conversation you have with G-Bot and access it. Once in there, type /? and send it as message. G-Bot will display several options, select the 🧠 Add/Edit Federation Metadata. 

New options will be displayed by G-Bot. Tap on the Select button in front of the ⚡️ Pay to LNURL one and read the subsequent message sent by G-Bot. 

The last step is to paste your LNURL as a message and send it. In the background, G-Bot will propose your LNURL as a Metadata change and once approved by the other guardians (OGs), G-Bot will let you know.

Congrats – your LNURL is live! You will start receiving your Federation fees regularly.
