How do I recover my account if I lose access to Fedi?

Fedi supports two backup options that can be used to recover funds and chat history if your device is lost or stolen - Personal and Social.

1. Personal – Navigate to Account > General > Personal backup > Continue
   • The 12 words shown act as a password to recover your funds; write them down in order and secure them offline. If you lose access to Fedi, you can redownload the app; enter these 12 words; and rejoin your federations to recover your funds and chat history.
2. Social – Navigate to Account > "Community Name" > Social backup (Beta) > Next
   • Record a short video on the Fedi app, and save the video file securely. If you lose access to Fedi, you can redownload the app and share the video file with federation guardians to verify your identity. Once verified, the guardians can help restore your wallet balance.
