How do I edit, delete, or reply to a message?

To edit or delete a chat message you've sent or to reply to a message you or someone else has sent in a direct chat or group, simply long-press on the relevant message until you see these options pop up.

• Tap Edit to update the text of your message; tap the blue checkmark button to save your changes when done. Note that edited messages are displayed with an asterisk (*) before the updated text.
• Tap Delete > Delete to erase your message entirely. While a deleted message disappears for both the sender and recipient(s), a blurb that reads "This message was deleted" is shown in its place.
• Tap Reply to respond to a specific message that either you or someone else has sent and type your response as normal. You can also reply to messages by swiping either left or right on them.
• Tap any emoji in the emoji bar (👍 😄 🎉 😐 ❤️ 🚀 👀) below React to add an emoji reaction to a message. Reactions appear beneath the message and are visible to everyone in the conversation. To add a custom emoji, tap on the + icon to open the full emoji list.
