How do I mute a chat conversation?

To mute or turn notifications off for a chat conversation, whether direct chat or group chat, navigate to the Chat tab > long-press the relevant conversation > select Mute from the Chat Notification Settings. This will ensure that you no longer receive notifications for any new messages in the selected conversation.
