What are mini apps?

Mini apps are site integrations and applications that extend the core functionality of the Fedi app.

Most are third-party Bitcoin services like BTC Map that are added in a lightweight way, similar to bookmarking a website, which is made possible through Fedi's in-app web browser.

Other mini apps like Bitrefill use WebLN to enable direct interaction with federation wallets, letting you transact with external services without ever leaving the Fedi app. 

Some mini apps, like AI Assistant, have been developed by the Fedi team and offer a more natively integrated experience in the app.

Community leaders can add default mini apps to their communities that are available to all members, while users can add personal mini apps that are accessible only to them.
