Manifold is an open-source protocol that streamlines the process of creating a federation by leveraging a decentralized registry of verified infrastructure providers.
Put simply, it allows someone wanting to set up a federation (the ambassador) to do so without having to run any infrastructure by connecting them to verified server runners (guardians) and liquidity providers.
The ambassador chooses the number of guardians they'd like, sets a fee amount on transactions, and pays for the federation in bitcoin – the Manifold protocol then handles the entire setup on the back end.
The result is a federation where funds are custodied by verified yet anonymous guardians. As members begin to join and transact, the ambassador's share of the fees collected lands in their wallet balance.
