How do I join the Manifold waitlist?

If you are the Lead Guardian (LG) of a federation created through the G-Bot setup service, you should have received a notice indicating that your G-Bot federation is shutting down to make way for Manifold, a new protocol for launching decentralized federations within the Fedi app.

Please follow the prompts in your G-Bot chat to provide a destination where remaining funds can be sent and join the waitlist to be notified when you can relaunch your federation. The process is as follows:

  1. Open the Fedi app > go to the Chat tab > and open your conversation with G-Bot.
  2. G-Bot tells you when your federation closes and asks where any funds that members leave behind should go. Choose one:
    • To donate them, tap Select next to Donate to a Bitcoin charity, then tap Select next to the charity you want.

    • To keep them, tap Select next to Send to my Bitcoin address, then type or paste a Bitcoin on-chain address you control and send it in the chat. G-Bot shows the address back to you: check it carefully, then tap Select next to Confirm address, or next to Change address to fix it. Confirming only saves your choice – it does not send any funds.

  3. Whichever you choose, G-Bot then explains why you can't renew your federation and introduces Manifold. Tap Select next to Join the waiting list.

G-Bot will confirm that you're on the list and will message you in the same chat when your spot opens. If you have questions, type "help" in the chat to see the support option, or go to the Ask Fedi mini app.

Spots for Manifold federations are currently limited and will be opened up to LG's as capacity becomes available on a first come-first served basis.

Note that Fedi does not move funds for your current federation members. You should ask them to move their balance out of your current federation before November 30th; an on-chain withdrawal is currently the most reliable way to do this.
