To join a publicly known federation or space, navigate to the Home tab > tap the 3-line menu at the top left > tap + Add. Here, you can tap Join on one of the open federations shown on the Discover tab.
If you have an invite code for a specific federation or space you'd like to join, the easiest way to do so is to simply tap the Scan tab and either scan or paste the invite code.
Note that for certain federations and spaces, you will be prompted to review and accept their terms of service by tapping I accept on the Welcome screen before you can join.
Keep in mind also that Fedi does not endorse any of the federations or spaces listed on the Discover tab, which are provided only as a resource. You join federations and spaces at your own risk.

How can we get in contact with local federations?
Great question! There are sites like Bitcoinmints and Fedimint Observer that provide information on publicly known federations.
That said, if federation administrators elect not to publish contact information for the federation, it will be difficult to get in touch with them.
For public federations, the best course of action would be to join the federation and refer to any announcements the admins might share in the community chat.
