How do I set up a fedimint using G-Bot?

Start a Chat with G-Bot

To set up a fedimint using the G-Bot, navigate to the Wallet tab, and tap the + sign at the top right. Next, toggle over to Create and tap Continue. You will see a message that your G-Bot is warming up. From here, tap Go to Chat and wait for your G-Bot to send you a new message.

Once you receive the initial messages from your G-Bot, open the conversation to read through the overview message and through the two linked PDFs. Please note that the only currently supported configuration is 1 LG (you) & 3 (OG's). Tap I accept both agreements when you're ready to proceed.

Choose your Plan Length

The next step is to choose your plan, and note that all plans must be paid in full up front. If you have a coupon code, you may select that option – but otherwise, the plan options are as follows:

• Dolphin – $180 for 6 months (nets out to $30 per month)
• Shark – $330 for 1 year (nets out to $27.50 per month)
• Whale – $630 for 2 years (nets out to $26.25 per month)

Tap Select next to the plan of your choice to proceed. You'll then be asked if you'd like to auto-renew your subscription. Though you can cancel the auto renewal at any time, keep in mind that once you pay for a plan, we cannot reimburse for unused time if you cancel your plan before renewal.

Set Details & Pay Invoice

The next step is to decide whether you'd like to make your fedimint public, which would allow it to appear on sites like Fedimint Observer as well as enable all users of the fedimint to invite others. Selecting "No" here would hide the invite code in the app so that only you are able to invite users.

The next part of the process is to establish the details of your fedimint and share them with G-Bot, including the fedimint Name, your guardian Name, and whether or not you would like to collect a fee on transactions. If you are satisfied with your responses, tap Yes, proceed with payment to continue.

If you made a mistake along the way, feel free to select No, start over instead. Once you select to move forward from this step, G-Bot will generate a Lightning invoice for you. Tap Copy to copy the invoice, and pay it from any Lightning-enabled wallet before the listed expiration date.

Wait for Setup Completion

Once G-Bot receives your payment, it will begin setting up your fedimint – providing progress updates as it provisions the servers and coordinates with the OG's to establish consensus & approve the proposed meta. These steps are mostly automated and happen fairly quickly in the background.

The portion of the process that can take a bit longer (up to 24 hours) is connecting the fedimint to two Lightning gateways and setting up the Stable Balance provider – and ensuring that all have sufficient liquidity. Once done, your new fedimint will be fully enabled for payments & transfers.

Review Dashboard & Invite Users

You will receive a message from G-Bot once your fedimint is fully operational, along with a unique link to your personal Guardian Dashboard and login credentials. You can log into this dashboard (best viewed on a desktop) to review the details of your fedimint, check its health, & manage meta fields.

G-Bot will also share your fedimint's invite code with you, which you share with prospective users by tapping Copy invite. This the last step – congrats on creating a fedimint with G-Bot!
